My old Tivo had several features which is sadly missed out on the Hummy.

Season Pass, this enabled you to record every episode of a series at the click of a button.

Remote control was able to switch on and off the TV meaning you only needed one remote.

The EPG is loaded immediately without having to wait.

At the end of a recording you are given the immediate option to delete.

Other than these little niggles the Hummy is very good and features a lot of features such as the twin built in tuners Tivo lacks.

Much of this function is planned with the "Freeview Playback" release due out in a "few" months, as well has a release which will store EPG data while Hummy is in standy. Not sure about option to delete after watching a recording. However with the next update you can delete multiple recordings in one go from the LIST button, so no great hardship - i.e. you won't need to go to MENU, RECORDING, then scroll to the watched recording, select and delete - it will be much simpler and quicker.

Hi PRND123 and welcome to the forums. Dont get rid of your Tivo just yet - it may never be beaten on personalised features and simplicity by these freeview PVRs.

Agree, there are some things the Tivo are designed to do that no other system can or in some cases even allowed to copy. On Sky+ or Tivo you have to pay them a subscription on going. With Tivo its possible to pay a lifetime one off lump sum in preference to a monthly fee after buying the machine. The Freeview PVRs might be looked at as the poor mans digital recorders, where you dont have to pay to use the service and to take advantage of any of the advance features, but they do a good job of recording the programmes selected by users with a simplified interface compared to the timer set up process of VCRs. What might be encouraging to the OP is that of the above list season pass is coming to the Humax, the EPG will load immediatly when coming on from standby and at the end of playing back a recording from the playlist pressing red will delete it. Still, these subscription FREE PVRs may be as good if not better than Sky+ functionality and ease of use one day, but it may never be able to do some of the things particular to the Tivo system of a few years ago

Thanks for the welcome, I do have a lifetime sub on the Tivo which has now been running for over 5 years so I well and truly got my money's worth. out of it, It has started suffering from loss of sound on recordings and I have been frustrated by a single tuner for a while now, it has been relegated to my bedroom so it hasn't been retired yet, I do find I'm going upstairs to view the EPG for up coming programmes as it's far superior to the Hummy. I do wish Tivo continued in the UK. The series 3 Tivo's in the US put all our PVRs to shame.

800 bucks for a PVR is rather a lot though, so you would expect it to be the mutt's nuts really.
