I did have Elinker working but then went and changed computers and have not been able to get the computer to recognise the PVR. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no joy. When I tried the Add Hardware it showed Code 19????. Tried to install the Media Controller replacement but failed due to my lack of technical know how.

Would be gratefull if anyone could provide some pointers as what to try next

Anyone heard anything about XP Home has a bug that doesn't like Elinker but no problems with the pro version??

Try using different USB ports, especially if you have a set at the front as well as a set at the back. This link gives a few of the basic tips you can try which, if you are going to get this resolved, is a good start. Its also got a procedure for how to uninstall elinker in a bit more of a thorough way, before re installing elinker or one of the alternatives.

Hi

Many thanks for the suggestions and have commenced searching all the links kindly provided. First I thought I better check I had uninstalled all references to ELinker. Came up with bits not deleted Windows\Prefech two files Media ELinker.Exe ID16E05E.pf and 240CDAE1.pf then checking SyStem Info came up with a Storage Problem - Humax STB Service (PNP) ROOT\HUMAX\0000 Failure using VxD loader.

Would be very gratefull for any clues as to how to deal with the Storage Problem and how to access the PNP ROOT.

Thanks again for your asstance.
