Hi
Has anyone spotted this bug...
Want to record Casualty and Spooks, which follows. Casualty has just started so can't program it from the guide/epg. so record manualy, then go back to guide and select spooks. PVR is set to start and end on time i.e no padding. Spooks is then not recorded. This is repeatabe with any program set where the first is manually set followed by a epg set record on the sane channel.

Yep. Same thing happened to me with Match of the Day 2 and the American Football that followed it.
Also does anybody know what an icon that looks like a small yellow box with a red circle and a cross to one side? Found this gainst a recording and could not play the recording.

The icon means 'failed to record whole'.....as in whole programme

That Icon indicates 'something went wrong with the recording' I can get it by switching off hummy during a recording
(why do that? because I have a run away recording!)

What software version are you using? I am aware of this bug but I thought (maybe wrongly) that it had been fixed at some point.

This bug has been reported (by me at least) and exists in v10 and v15 (not checked other versions).
Basically if you have auto-padding on, an EPG recording scheduled and then set an instant recording for the previous programme on the same channel as the EPG recording the EPG recording will not occur.
As seen, if you set Spooks to record (Tuesday 9pm BBC1) then press record on BBC1 for the previous programme you don't get Spooks recorded. I guess at the padded start time (e.g. 8:58pm) the Humax sees that BBC1 is already recording and doesn't start recording the next programme.
I think it should start recording Spooks as soon as the previous recording ends.
Best thing to do would be to report this to Humax (or avoid using instant recording).

I can see this happening if padding was on, but in this case padding is turned off. But your right it does it in v10 and v15

Nige, this doesn't answer your question completely, but Humax did include the following statement when they released v.08 of theur software;
'Note: If you have set the Recordings Start Time option set in the Record menu (so that scheduled recordings start early) and you make an Instant Record on the programme directly before your schedule (on the same channel), then the schedule will not take place as the Instant record will take priority.'
The confusing bit is that you aren't using padding.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
