Humax To Pc Transfer Speed

Hi All,
I've just tried using the HMC GUI for the first time and was a bit surprised by the transfer rate. At first I was only getting a rather pathetic 800~900 kB/s, which is less than real time video. This seems a bit on the slow side for USB2. I know the computer can do MUCH better, so I was wondering what others on the forum get.

One thing I did try, which helped somewhat, was to change the humax to Radio mode instead of DVB (while the transfers were taking place), as that should be a lot less work. It did help, as I can now at least get over 1MB/s, but it's still t o o s l o w!

Any tips (apart from the IDE interface hack) gratefully received.

From quickly looking at other forum posts on this I get the impression that the transfer of data is generally fairly slow for everyone. If it is any consolation your transfer rate is greater than mine!
