Hello,

I have just found that only 1 of my 15 or so recorded programmes is listed!

I thought of trying HumaxRW but looking at the back of the PVR9200T I only see an RS-232C socket - no USB socket!

How can I move files from the PVR to my PC?!

Cheers

Geoff

The USB socket is under a flap on the front; pull on the edge of the right hand side of the front panel. However that won't help tou with HumaxRW which requires either a direct connection to a PC or via an IDE to USB converter. Either will require opening the box which will invalidate your warranty.

I have found the USB socket!

But humaxrw 0: -l or humaxrw 1: -l come up with unknown partition table error message.

If I use e-linker I see D1 and D2 - D1 has 2 empty folder, image and mp3. D2 has the 1 and only programme still listed under recorded programes.

I have tried humaxrw -r -l 0: etc but still get the unknown partition table message.

Any thoughts please!

Cheers

Martin,

thanks for that - I have only just seen your reply.

Can you give me a little more details re the "direct connection to a PC or via an IDE to USB converter"?

Do you mean to say that if I wish to keep the warranty there is no way to get those lost programmes back?! By the way most annoying that Humax tech support only Mon to Fri!

Cheers

Hi Geoff, have a look here (http://humaxdisk.wikispaces.com/Disk+Cabling+and+Mods) - this describes the cabling mod required for a 'permanent' solution. The 'temporary' way is simply to put the disk onto an IDE cable (HDD cable) into a PC, but whatever you do don't let the computer format the drive.

I'm not sure what the difference is between the permanent and the temporary solution?

Correct other than you could try the short recording trick described in the FAQ on this site.

With the permanent solution you'd have a (different) usb connector dangling out of your Hummy somewhere (mine comes through the CAM slot and coils up behind the flap. With the temporary solution you'd connect to the computer, download your programmes and then put everything back as it was before you connected the drive to the computer.

OK _ see.

Thanks

PS why is it not possible to get at the PVR's HD via the normal USB connection?

PSS why ever doesn't Humax provide a way of getting back these disappearing programmes?

Because programs like HumaxRW need to access the actual file system whereas the only functionality provided by the Humax software API for the USB port is to do with transferring recordings i.e. it is not low level enough.

Try asking them; in my view a better question would be why don't they fix the software so that the file system corruption is corrected and programs don't get lost.

ah! I thought the latest version ( it is 1.00.21?) had done that?
