Set Dancing on Ice for the wife from the guide (not sure whether by series record) . The guide said it started 18.35 and it duly started recording then. It actually started 18.10 and WW3 has broken out. To add insult to injury the guide has since been corrected in retrospect.

Also Ski Sunday started 15 mins before that set via the guide.

Did anyone else have this problem, or is my Hummy sick?

And yes she knows it's repeated next Sat morning, but going to be hard to not find out result before then. And even if it's on internet it's "not the same".

I'm assuming that you've got the start and end times set to 'On Time'? I wouldn't say that your Hummy is 'sick' but obviously something didn't go right. To me it seems that as the programme started 25 minutes early and the Hummy only 'wakes up' 15 minutes before the scheduled time that the signal for the Hummy to start recording using Auto Tracking was missed. Therefore it started recording at the original scheduled time. It would be interesting to hear from others that had tried to record Dancing on Ice to see what happened.

Give us a bit more information: what software version, was the box in standby or recording something else, was this a single record or a series record? For the record ours recorded both parts fine using series record.

Latest version of software (v21, with factory reset). I'm fairly sure the box was on.
I'm not sure 100% sure whether it was on series record or not. I think it is one I do manually each week from the guide. What I did notice (I think) was that the guide still showed the later start time after it started recording, although when out of the guide and turning to channel 3 showed correct earlier time.

I have to say I am struggling with this one. It sounds like some sort of transmitter problem with the EPG from one channel being wrong (what channel was it tuned to before you switched to ITV1 ?); I have no idea if that is feasible.

My recording start and end times were fine with: V1.00.21, Series link, machine in standby, loads of interfence

It was a hurly-burly Sunday evening, we were preparing dinner, kids were in and out, TV was on much of the time. I simply can't give the exact details for a technical diagnosis. I was hoping it was ITV's fault and others would report similar problem. As nobody else has reported anything similar, it seems like it was some sort of pilot error.
Thanks for your attempted help guys.

My main concern now, is that in the ensuing fracas the Hummy was rapidly powered off-on a couple of times (don't ask!) – being turned off a second time while still booting up from the first - interrupting other recordings that should have been made last night. Haven't been allowed near the thing to check.

Although this week was fine (from standby) I had similar occurence the previous week with a different ITV programme when I was in the EPG 15 minutes before the scheduled start and was tuned into a different mux.
