My setup has 3 methods of receiving freeviews - one through the panasonic TV, a second through a Topfield PVR and the third through the Foxsat box. I had expected that any difference in quality would be in favour of the latter but to my surprise both the TV tuner and the Topfield give a markedly crisper freeview picture than the Humax Foxsat. I tried using a better quality HDMI cable but it had no effect on the Foxsat freeview picture. Needless to say the HD picture is tremendous but I am wondering why the satellite freeview picture should be inferior to the others. I wonder whether anyone else has the same experience.

Overall satellite uses lower bit rates than Freeview.

Thanks for information - I thought that there must be a technical explanation. What a pity that the satellite input is not as good as the terrestial signal.
