Hi there
It's driving me mad, and I've read the user guide from end to end, searched on "red letter g" and got nowhere.
So does any of you clever guys know what the red letter G in a circle means at the right hand side of some recordings, but not all, in the media list?

Hi Nerval,
This doll says check out Page 28 of the User Guide :D
If it's the symbol at the very bottom of the page you are referring to it says "Displayed only when there is any guidance information". Sorry I can't tell you any more.
If anyone reads this and knows what either "Enc" or "Eng" (the symbol is not very clear on my tv) stands for in a recorded Media line I'd love to know!

In a nutshell the recording will only playback on the HDR it was recorded on.
So say you copied off a BBC HD programme to ext HDD, and then connected this to a different HDR, the recording will not playback.

Nerval,
The User Guide is quite confusing. I would have expected this information under the 'Media' section but stumbled over it myself in Basic Operation. I guess the reason for the confusion is these symbols are also visible if you select the info button (i) when watching a channel.
Glad I could be of some help.
Barry
Ah, I see. Well as I haven't an ext HDD or a different HDR I'll not worry my pretty little head :D
