Maybe it's just me but the e-mail I received seems to be lacking on details, same with this forum post.

It's also seems to be a tad bit on the rude side, I mean how would you feel if you received an email with just one line text of "Anyone who can even a couple of quid helps" and a link.

No explaination of what it is for. Does it goes toward hosting costs? Or are we raising money for a charity?

Don't get me wrong, I do know that it costs to run a forum, as I have a few websites/forums so I do know how much it costs, and I'm all for donations.

Just that it's lacking any details, that's all.

Thanks for understanding,

Tony

as per all forum donations they are towards the running costs of the website and server costs.

People already know this and i have written several longer messages to this effect in the past, time was not on my side when i wrote this so do i ahve to apologise ? if so then yes i am sorry for not being more informative.

The money does not go towards me going down the local pub for a few beers

I have subscribed previously Mike, but it looks as if there will be no more support for the 9200T, ie software upgrades, and that was the model that the Forum was based on.

Cheers

Like I said earlier, I have no problem with people asking for donations, it's just that it CAN be misread - for example, I have not been here for a while so I did not see your several longer messages here. Your e-mail was the first for a long time and it came out as a bit cheeky and I'm just mentioning it from the user's views, that's all.

Hope this clears up the confusions.

As you may have noticed we have embraced the newer Humax arrivals of 9150, 9300 and the foxsat boxes and HDR, but we still get questions baout the 9200 too. :)

I donated just after joining. I must say it seemed exceptionally inefficient. It mwas quite some time before the money seemed to get there (paypal) and even longer before it was acknowledged!

Thanks to everyone who has donated we have raised little over £200 which is more than needed so you can stop now if you want to ;)

Once again thanks everyone
