Hi.
I noticed today, while looking at something else, that I have 'Power Saving on Standby' set to 'off'. Can anyone tell me the advantages/disadvantages of setting this 'on'? The instructions don't say.
Thanks.

Either SCART pass-through and / or RF pass-through will be disabled. Depends how you have all your AV kit connected as to whether this matters.

Thanks.
I have a very simple setup. My arial is plugged into the PVR and the PVR is connected to the TV via SCART and I watch/record digital channels only. That's it.
Is it possible that, with Power saving on Standby set 'on', any recordings that I have scheduled will not be activated if I put the PVR on standby?
Cheers.

Cheers. No, it wakes up consistently and reliably from both Standby modes; I have Power Saving Enabled.

Thanks.
So, with a simple setup like mine, no problem. The only reason that there's an option to set Power Saving 'off' is when more complex connections are used - as per the post by gomezz. Yes?
Cheers.

With your set up if you wanted to watch (analogue?) channels using the TV's own tuner then you would typically run an RF co-ax patch lead from the recorder to the TV. Turning power saving on in the recorder would stop the TV seeing the aerial signal. But as you don't watch the TV other than using the recorder you can turn power saving on.

Thanks Gomezz and Savvy249.
That explains it. Why isn't this explained in the instructions?
I'm sorry if this isn't very'PC' on this forum, but although I'm very happy with the PVR, the user manual leaves very much to be desired. Its not really a 'user' manual is it? More of a 'here's some random information obout this set, not in any particular order - we're sure you'll work it out'.
Thanks again for the info.

Thanks again for the info. From the Manual, page 7128. When my PVR is connected I am not able to receive any/all of the channels on my TV?
• Check that you have a RF (coaxial) cable connected from the TV/VCR output on the PVR to the aerial
input of your TV set.
• If the problem is experienced when the PVR-9300T is placed in Standby mode, then please access
MENU PREFERENCES MISCELLANEOUS SETTINGS POWER SAVING IN STANDBY - switch this option
OFF so that the signal will be passed through to the TV when in Standby mode.
Anyway, that's what we have the Forum for :D:D:D

Thanks savvy249.
I might have guessed that there would be something in the manual about it - just a bit hidden I think. Not to worry, the Forum succeeds once more.
Thanks again.
