I wonder if anyone can help. I bought my daughter an F2-FOXT some years ago now. Everything always worked great. Suddenly it's failed totally. I have checked it thoroughly both inside and out and can find no fault!! As it was such a good STB I'm loathed to just throw it away. Does anyone know anyone who would undertake a repair?

When you say 'failed totally' I assume you mean there is no sign of life from the box at all. Check the fuse in the plug as a first option. Do these units have an internal fuse on the power supply as well?

I don't know what else to suggest, sorry. It sounds like the PSU may have gone down.

If you have a multimeter you could try metering the bridges or voltage regulatrs to see if any are open circuit having first unplugged the STB of course.
Be aware there may be voltages stored in the capacitors either from the unit being on or from the act of testing in situ though.

May be easier to buy one off e-bay. They go for £18 - £22 pounds and your daughter would also have a spare remote.
