Having read a recent post I'm interested in having a second cable to my Humax Foxsat HDR, I currently have a small loop cable from LNB1 to LNB2 socket.
Should I use a new length of aerial cable or should I replace the existing single cable with a twin aerial cable ?
I already have a quad lnb ready to be fitted.

At present there are 3 twin lnbs on 13/19/28E into a 4into1 diseqc box, the 3 inners go thru the diseqc and the out cable goes thru the wall to this PC. The 3 outers go thru another diseqc and that cable goes around the house to the Humax and the family TV downstairs.
I'm sole user and the incoming signal goes to upstairs or to downstairs, never to both at the same time.

Finally the new cable would not go via the diseqc box, would it be cleaner to run the new cable direct from 28E
to LNB1 on the box and the one from the diseqc to LNB2 ?

I'm sure it would be happiest with permanent feeds to both tuners from 28šE (ie exclusive use of the Astra LNB) whilst your PC and maybe another single-tuner PVR-ready receiver share the two alternate twin-LNBs.

Thanks for that thought. It all needs a rethink.

Of course if you exchange the 28šE LNB for a quad-output model, the PVR can have two, and each diseqc switch can still have one each, plus their existing alternate feeds.
Or change all three LNBs for quads, run them through three or four diseqc switches so the HDR has access to two of the same at any time..
