Hi

I just bought a Humax PVR9200T to use with a SLingbox - this device will allow you to see anything picked up by the Freeview box on any connected computer anywhere inthe world and at any time (through time-shifted recordings)

To set it up I need to connect two IR transmitters which will program the HUmax to recieve instructions sent by the SLingbox (in turn controlled by the remotye computer) I need to position the two transmitters next to the Humaxs IR recver. Does anyone know where it is as it is not obvious ?

Cheers

If I get this working I will let everyone know what it's like

Hi Carmelo,

I've had my Slingbox hooked up for a couple of months now and it works fine. The IR panel you're looking for is just to the right of the Humax logo on the front panel. When you set up the Slingbox you can specify the model of PVR you are using and when using the 'Bauhaus' skin the remote that pops up on you screen is very similar to the real thing. The only thing I've needed to watch out for is the volume level - although you can set it on the Slingbox (and your PC itself) the Humax needs to be set at a reasonable level too as this control is not available on the software version of the remote.

Good luck - I've found it very useful for setting up recordings while I'm away on business.

What is a Slingbox and where can I get one? It sounds like a great device to have.

Are there any other methods of setting the Humax from remote?

Thanks.

Here's what it is:- Sling Media (http://www.slingmedia.com/uk/). Not sure where you can buy it though. Google is your friend http://www.hummy.org.uk/invison/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smartass.gif

here ... (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2006/09/29/review_sling_media_slingbox/)

includes connecting to a Hummy.

You can only buy them from Dixons in the UK I think.

Thanks for the advice. Google is indeed my friend. PC World and Dixons both sell the Slingbox as do www.advancedmp3players.co.uk. All at £179.
